Alberta energy minister to promote investment at CERAWeek

Energy Minister Margaret McCuaig-Boyd will be promoting investment in Alberta’s oil and gas industry during a major U.S. energy conference in Houston, Tex..

While attending CERAWeek from March 4 to 7, Minister McCuaig-Boyd will meet with potential investors about value-added opportunities in Alberta’s downstream sector.

“Alberta has a tremendous story to tell, and I’m proud to share it with investors from around the world,” says McCuaig-Boyd. “We’re blessed with some of the richest oil and gas resources in North America, and we’re building on our strengths to secure Alberta’s energy future through diversification. Combined with our actions to support private investment in oil and gas processing and petrochemical manufacturing, I’m looking forward to showcasing why Alberta is the best place to invest and do business.”

She will also participate in a panel session on the growth of energy development in Western Canada, discussing the important actions Alberta is taking to grow production and attract new investment while reducing emissions.

The minister will also meet with key influencers, including the Texas Secretary of State and federal energy ministers from Mexico and Norway.

CERAWeek is an annual conference that brings together energy leaders from across North America and the globe to discuss and collaborate on critical topics of interest to Alberta’s energy strategy.
