New Milk Receiving Measurement Solutions Improve Dairy and Cheese Making Operations

White Paper - Krohne

The milk receiving step at dairy and cheese making operations is critical to product quality. Dairy operations need measurement solutions that help them deal with two key milk receiving issues – the aeration that occurs due to agitation in milk trucks traveling from the farm to the dairy plant; and the need to identify and measure the milk components. New inline measurement devices are available that help with process optimization and quality improvement.

When is a 4-20 mA Output Needed on my Panel Meter?

White Paper - Alpha Controls & Instrumentation

Most digital panel meters, controllers, and indicators have the option of a 4‐20 mA output. While a very popular feature, it is worth considering whether this output is really needed for your application, and when it might be adding needless complexity and costs to a system. In this whitepaper, learn about the common reasons on why you would or would not need a 4‐20 mA output.

Does Your Scale Pay You Back?

White Paper - VishayPG - BLH Canada

A significant point effecting cost of ownership that is not often taken into account at time of system specification and purchase, is downtime. How long does it take to resume production on a typical system failure? If knowing exactly when a failure has occurred is not important, and you can wait hours or days for a component replacement, then any standard commercial weigh system will do. If, however, an incorrect weight signal has an immediate impact on product quality, or a failure results in costly downtime, then an industrial weigh system from BLH Nobel should be considered.

Steam Pressure and Temperature Control –
In One Unit

White Paper - Samson Controls

Superheated steam can be found in various different applications and industries. While desirable for many processes, it may be advantageous to reduce the steam pressure and temperatures to improve process efficiency, protect equipment, or perform other downstream functions. By combining the steam pressure control valve with the desuperheater in one unit, superior temperature control, maximum turndown as well as a reduced size are achieved.

Valuable Waste

White Paper - TURCK Chartwell

Almost every human activity creates waste. But waste can be a valuable resource. Excess agricultural produce, manure, wastewater sludge, household and restaurant waste are perfect raw materials for biogas production. The biogas can be upgraded to pure biomethane, which is used as vehicle fuel or for injection into the natural gas grid. The digestion of organic solids produces raw biogas that contains 50 - 70 % biomethane, 30 - 50 % carbon dioxide and traces of sulphur, nitrogen and oxygen.
In biogas upgrading plants of Purac Puregas Turck’s I/O-system excom enables convenient maintenance directly in zone 1.

CoriolisMaster VeriMass on-board verification and diagnostics

White Paper - ABB Measurement

VeriMass offers the automatic monitoring of the meter tubes for possible erosion of coating. It uses the basic principle that imbalanced meter tubes require more energy to keep the tube oscillation stable. This innovative procedure was found and tested in the field and represents a “simple to use” method to detect the number one source of errors for Coriolis flowmeters. A report generation capability completes the offering.

Three Strategies to Drive Reliability with Handheld Communicators

White Paper - BHD Instrumentation

Monitoring and tracking the status of equipment in the field is an essential part of day-to-day plant operation. Field technicians are the eyes and ears of the plant, whether they are investigating a known issue or are simply monitoring assets during regular rounds. From asset management software to field tools, everything should work together seamlessly to ensure maintenance is efficient, data is accurate, and devices are healthy.
