Intelligent Sensor Management -
The Power of ISM

White Paper - Alpha Controls & Instrumentation

For chemical, pharmaceutical, biotechnology and all other process industries, maintaining high product quality while improving process safety and controlling operating costs is a constant challenge. Increased maintenance requirements for sensors and unplanned production downtimes resulting from the failure of measurement technology are substantial cost factors. Thus, cutting-edge analytical measurement systems help ensure product quality and yield are achieved.

Signal Isolators, Converters and Interfaces: The “Ins” and “Outs”

White Paper - Moore Industries

Signal isolators are useful process instruments that solve important ground loop and signal conversion problems. But they do much more than that. This white paper shows how signal isolators can be used to share, split, boost, protect, step down, linearize and even digitize process signals. It also gives a guide on what to look for when selecting a signal isolator.

Application Guidance for Optimass Flowmeters to be used on Abrasive Fluids

White Paper - Krohne

For almost 20 years KROHNE Coriolis mass flowmeters have been successfully used on abrasive fluids such as slurries (mineral and metal mining) and sand & water mixtures. In these applications a single straight measuring tube will always offer clear advantages over other designs with tube geometries that suffer erosion and premature failure of flow dividers and bends in the abrasive fluid stream. Notwithstanding this, even a meter with a single straight tube will suffer some erosion unless simple precautions are taken. The purpose of this application guidance is to highlight potential issues so that they can be mitigated against during the planning and installation of the meter.

An Innovative Technology for Coriolis Metering under Entrained Gas Conditions

White Paper - Endress+Hauser

Coriolis mass flowmeters are usually only used for single-phase fluids since it has been found that their accuracy can be affected by two-phase flows, e.g. the existence of entrained gas in a liquid flow. It is now known that there are various sources of error, among which the significantly increased compressibility due to gas entrainment brings the most difficulty when Coriolis meters are used in the field. Endress+Hauser has developed a new Coriolis sensor together with an innovative technology, Multi-Frequency Technology (MFT), which can compensate the measurement errors introduced by the increased compressibility of an entrained gas flow. The new sensor provides a novel hardware platform so that a higher natural mode of the measuring tube can be reliably excited in addition to the basic working mode.
