This is the September 28, 2017 edition of Canada's Process Network's informative e-newsletter. In each edition we offer process solutions and application information.

Low Cost Conveying Through Hose or Pipe

Line Vac air powered conveyors convert ordinary hose or pipe into a complete conveying system for bulk materials, pills, plastic granules, scrap, trim, and other complex shapes. Units use a small amount of compressed air to generate a vacuum on one end and high output flows on the other. There are no moving parts to wear out. Line Vac is available in many sizes and materials from stock. Our web site offers detailed information, application video, downloadable drawings and PDF literature.

March TEF-MAG 200 Non-Metallic Gear Pumps

MARCH Series TEF-MAG pumps are rotating positive displacement pumps, external gear type and magnetically coupled. They generate low flows with high discharge pressures and very little pulsation. The pump housing is made of PP or PVDF and the internal hydraulic parts are made of non-metallic materials. The power transmission of drive and pump is contactless with NdFeB or SmCo permanent magnets. There are no shaft seals, which guarantees no leakage of corrosive, toxic and explosive fluids.

Moore Industries -
New Moore Industries SLD Functional Safety Programmable Loop Display

The SIL3 capable SLD features a large integral display that shows real-time process status in mA, percent, or any designated 5-character Engineering units (EGU). The latest addition to the Moore Industries’ FS Functional Safety Series products, it is certified by exida® as a SIL3 capable, non-interfering device for use in a safety loop. The SLD is the perfect solution to accurately and reliably display process status in a safety loop, and features the Loop Maintenance Diode Option which allows it to be removed from the safety loop without affecting the integrity of the safety function.

Alpha Controls & Instrumentation -
M400 Multi-Parameter Transmitter

Mettler Toledo's multi-parameter M400 transmitter series features Intelligent Sensor Management (ISM®) technology and covers pH / ORP, oxygen (dissolved or in gas), dissolved carbon dioxide, conductivity or GPro® 500 TDL depending on the model you choose. The high contrast black and white touchscreen together with four soft keys, allows you to operate the transmitter in the harshest applications without compromising user ergonomics. The mixed-mode input functionality allows connection of analog or digital ISM sensors.

Cameron Instruments:
New Calibration Reminders for the XP2i

Have you ever been ready to start a critical calibration, only to find that your test gauges’s calibration certificate has expired? Or mayb you had to postpone a test because you couldn’t find your calibration certificate? How much did this downtime cost you? The new XP2i test gauge can be programmed to alert users prior to, on, or after the gauge’s calibration due date, with three different alert types.

CGIS: EBRO Resilient Seated Butterfly Valves

At CGIS, we’re proud to represent the premier resilient seated butterfly manufacturer in the world – EBRO Armaturen. Headquartered in Hagen, Germany, EBRO has mastered the butterfly valve design through the use of seat locating rings, triple o-ring seals, additional stem bearings and a precision machined body. Check out the video and supporting documents here.

Endress+Hauser - Micropilot FMR10/FMR20 – Innovative and Efficient

Point level switch for the maximum degree of safety
The Micropilot FMR10 and FMR20 belong to the first non-contact radars with Bluetooth® commissioning, operation and maintenance app. Signal curves can be shown via app on Bluetooth® enabled smartphones or tablets (iOS, Android). Operation is also possible via HART or remote display. They feature a unique radar chip design with integrated radio frequency components and direct emission transceiver.

Swagelok -
Doing More to Keep Your Plant Running Safely

As many as 42 percent of safety incidents are due to errors that could have been prevented. That’s pressure – and Swagelok can help. In addition to our high-quality, rigorously-tested components, we offer hands-on assembly and installation training, as well as help with proper product selection. Helping your employees operate more safely and confidently – just one more way we’re engineered to perform under pressure.

Greyline Instruments -
Differential Level Controller also Measures Flow

Reduce costs and simplify instrumentation at treatment plant headworks. The new Greyline DLT 2.0 can measure both differential level at a barscreen, plus open channel flow through a flume. It works with two non-contacting ultrasonic sensors. One sensor is installed upstream from the barscreen and a second sensor downstream for differential level control. Or you can install the second sensor in a flume to control and transmit differential level control plus flow.

Magnetrol -
Introducing the Latest Innovation from the Magnetrol® Think Tank

When you think about level measurement all day, amazing things happen. At Magnetrol®, we’re obsessed with level measurement because we know how important it is to your operations and your bottom line. And all of that level thinking has led to a smarter non-contact radar: the new 26GHz Pulsar® Model R86. It has smaller process connections, higher resolution, higher temperature ranges and MAGNETROL’s industry-leading advanced diagnostics to help minimize downtime. Get reliable, affordable measurement with the R86.

Tundra Solutions - Safety Through Complete Pressure Management: Farris

Pressure Relief Valves provide protection of life and of the facility (and property within it). When an overpressure condition exists, a pressure relief valve will open and allow overpressure discharge from the pressurized equipment. Overpressure may exist for a variety of reasons. Depending on the situation, these occurrences can be independent of one another, or they may occur at the same time. They can be the cause of large or small fluid releases, and care must be taken to ensure that a maximum relief scenario is addressed.
