Point level switch provides process safety

The Liquiphant Fail-Safe from Endress+Hauser provides excellent safety and high availability. The point level switch is used in pump dry-run protection and overfill prevention. For applications of  functional safety requiring a high degree of failure safety and availability, the point level switch offers Safety Integrity Levels up to SIL3 with only one instrument. The high SIL according to IEC 61508 Ed. 2.0 is achieved by internal redundancy and permanent self-monitoring of the instrument. In addition, a constant live signal monitors functioning. An option provides a special design and special materials so that the sensor can resist process temperatures ofup to 280°C/536°F.
