Radar verification system ensures level safety
Don Horne
The Positive Level Verification System from VEGA Americas verifies that a safety system will be triggered if the material reaches the set safety limit. A target is installed inside of a tank that is subject to level measurement and is stowed in the first position. It is selectively positioned to a second position to reflect emitted electromagnetic energy to simulate a predetermined material level. The system simulates a high level condition by positioning the target in front of the emitter at a distance that corresponds to the high level set point. It can be used for in situ two point level calibration and prevents costly, time-consuming procedures that require moving the process level.
