A Canadian Pacific Railway train has derailed near the Red Deer, Alta., airport.

Blackfalds RCMP told Canadian Press they responded to a report of a seven-car train derailment along Highway 2A between Springbrook and Mackenzie Road around 4:45 p.m. Friday, with some of the rail cars carrying crude oil with one leaking.

Officials from Alberta highways, environmental services, hazardous materials, emergency services and CP were at the scene.

No one was injured in the derailment, and police said no evacuation was required because the location is a rural, non-residential area. The removal of train cars and environmental cleanup were completed over the weekend.
