The Mining Association of British Columbia (MABC) has announced that Bryan Cox, president and CEO, will be leaving the association in mid-February to pursue another role in the natural resource sector in B.C.

“On behalf of the Board of Directors I would like to thank Mr. Cox for his significant work advocating on behalf of our industry and the jobs and economic opportunity it creates,” said Jeff Hanman, chair of MABC. “As CEO Mr. Cox significantly increased the profile of the Association and highlighted the important role mining plays in jobs, technology and the transition to a low carbon economy.”

Cox joined MABC as vice president of corporate affairs in 2014 and was appointed president and CEO in 2017. As president and CEO Cox launched a new strategy for MABC that highlighted the importance of maintaining a competitive mining sector in B.C. and the role of B.C.’s mining industry in the low carbon economy.

The MABC expects to appoint a new president and CEO shortly.
